Sharon Henderson B.Com (Acc.) C.A. – Partner
Sharon has completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Accounting at the University of Melbourne and she is also a qualified Chartered Accountant. Prior to her appointment to our Consultancy, Sharon worked with a leading international Chartered Accounting firm where she gained over 3 years experience in advising clients on broad ranging accounting issues and she also assisted the firm with Graduate and Vacation recruitment programs.

Sharon joined our consultancy in early 2001 and was promoted to the Partnership in early 2003. Her background and contacts also affords us the opportunity to further develop our success and market share in the placement of professional and support staff within accounting firms. Primarily responsible for the placement of Lawyers, Accountants and Support Staff within both legal and accounting firms, Sharon is also actively involved in all marketing initiatives.

Colleen Tankard MRCSA – Partner
Colleen has gained extensive HR expertise within two National law firms prior to joining Legal People as a Partner in 1987. Colleen was the Office Manager of a medium size law firm and prior to that was with a national law firm for 7 years.

Colleen has been an individual member of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association since 1988. She has had over 15 years of invaluable experience in the provision of temporary & permanent support staff in Melbourne and she is well known within the industry as having the highest calibre of candidates, professionalism and service delivery standards. In particular, Colleen has expertise in the following types of placements: legal support staff (legal secretaries, para-legals, law clerks) and office services staff (ie. office managers, accounts staff).

Stephanie Talha B.Soc.Sci. (HR) -Recruitment Consultant
Stephanie is Legal People’s newest recruit! Joining us in 2008 she will be contributing to the placement of legal support and other office staff.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Social Science Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma of Business majoring in Human Resources. Her previous experience in the recruitment and promotions industry includes working alongside nationally recognised clients, assisting with the placement of a high calibre staff in exhibition and promotional work. Stephanie has also managed temporary office support staff (eg. entry-level receptionists, I.T specialists and accounts staff) and handled permanent placements from end-to-end across a range of industries.

With over six year’s customer service experience, ranging from hospitality management to customer care and assistance within a wide array of environments, Stephanie is well placed to assist our valued clients and candidates with their requirements.

Bob Henderson - Founding Partner
Bob is a founding Partner of Legal People and assists in our professional Division.

He has had over 30 years experience in the recruitment of lawyers at all levels. Bob now manages senior level Lawyer and Management appointments and he has placed lawyers throughout Australia and the UK.

As a result of Bob's expertise, extensive contacts and unique knowledge of the Legal Recruitment market, Bob has developed an excellent reputation among Melbourne law firms.

Bob has also diversified and developed his expertise to include practice sales, mergers and acquisitions. Bob consults to many law firms providing valuable and ongoing strategic and succession planning advice.

Sue Henderson – Founding Partner
As a founding partner of Legal People, Sue established our legal support division.

Prior to the establishment of Legal People, Sue had gained many years of HR recruitment expertise within other leading recruitment companies where she developed an excellent rapport amongst clients and candidates alike. In 1973, together with Bob, they established Legal People to specialise in legal recruitment servicing the niche market of law firms.

Recognised as a leader of women in small business, Sue was a long-standing member of the Australian Human Resource Institute as well as Recruitment and Consulting Services Australia (RCSA).

Sue's experience was fundamental in establishing a solid client base consisting of many legal firms categorised as 1st and 2nd tier international, national, large and medium sized law firms, through to boutique style law firms.
