Duties
In this role you will:
- Advise on complex education law matters, including child safety obligations, discrimination, criminal law, privacy, debt recovery, contracts, copyright and reporting obligations, parent conduct, and interpreting court orders
- Partner on strategic initiatives, shaping decisions and aligning legal advice with organisational priorities
- Design and deliver practical guidance, templates and training to strengthen school-based capability
- Monitor and interpret legislative change, assess operational impact, and deliver clear, actionable guidance to the business
- Manage legal matters proactively, maintaining responsiveness, clear communication and accurate records
- Foster trusted stakeholder relationships and support the growth of junior lawyers
Skills & experience
You are an admitted lawyer with 5+years PAE Education law experience , who is eager to grow in a supportive, purpose-driven legal team. You bring:
- Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders
- A high level of attention to detail and sound problem-solving ability
- Good time management and organisational skills
- A collaborative and professional approach, with the ability to work under supervision
- A commitment to child safety and the values of Integrity, Respect, and Excellence
