    About the role
    Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer with 5+ years PAE to join their Disputes and Litigation team within the Negligence and Redress Unit . In this senior role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of civil litigation matters, including historical abuse claims, personal injury, and other complex disputes, providing strategic advice, leading case strategy, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes.

    Duties
    In this role you will:
    • Advise on complex civil litigation, including historical abuse and personal injury, shaping strategy aligned with organisational priorities
    • Manage matters end-to-end, delivering timely, practical, and risk-focused legal guidance
    • Lead case strategy, coordinating with external providers and internal stakeholders to optimise outcomes
    • Ensure compliance with court processes, filings, mediation, trials, and all procedural obligations
    • Assess and mitigate risks, providing clear, actionable briefings to management
    • Monitor legislative updates and assess their impact on operations
    • Develop and deliver internal guidance, templates, and education programs to strengthen stakeholder capability
    • Mentor and collaborate with junior team members    
    Skills & experience
    You are an admitted lawyer with 5+years PAE experience , who is eager to grow in a supportive, purpose-driven legal team. You bring:
    • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders
    • A high level of attention to detail and sound problem-solving ability
    • Good time management and organisational skills
    • A collaborative and professional approach, with the ability to work under supervision
    • A commitment to child safety and the values of Integrity, Respect, and Excellence
    About our client
    Our client owns and operates approximately 300 schools in and around Melbourne. Their Corporate Legal team is based in the Melbourne head office situated in the inner CBD and close to public transport.
