    Your New Role
    As Lead Medico Legal Advisor, you will oversee a national team of Medico-Legal Advisors who are the first point of contact for members seeking advice on medico-legal risk, regulatory obligations, and employment matters. This is not a practising legal role but one that will see you apply your legal and medical knowledge in new and rewarding ways.

    In addition to providing guidance on complex issues, you will be responsible for managing resourcing and workflow, ensuring consistency of advice, and supporting the client experience across all three offices. With a strong team leadership focus, this role offers a unique opportunity to step away from day-to-day practice while still leveraging your expertise to influence outcomes and improve services for the medical community.

    Your Skills Profile

    • At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, ideally across multiple locations;
    • Legal experience in medical negligence, allied health, or related medical fields or direct experience in the medical profession prior to becoming a lawyer;
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams;
    • Ability to identify risk, manage claims or advisory matters, and escalate appropriately;
    • Background in process improvement, transformation, or knowledge management; 
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a member-first mindset; and
    • Capacity to balance operational oversight with strategic enhancement of services.
