About the role... 
As Legal Counsel , you will work closely with the Head of Legal and Finance Director to provide strategic legal support across a broad range of property-related matters. This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for a commercially minded lawyer looking to contribute meaningfully to a fast-paced property development environment.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Advising internal stakeholders on a wide variety of property matters, including planning, acquisitions and sales of greenfield properties, real estate finance, property development contracts, and due diligence processes.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and legal documents. Familiarity with Australian Standard contracts is preferred.
• Providing legal guidance on employment and workplace law issues.
• Assisting with corporate governance matters, including compliance with the Corporations Act 2001.
• Identifying legal risks and developing practical mitigation strategies.
• Supporting dispute resolution and litigation matters, including managing relationships with external counsel.
• Monitoring and interpreting legislative and regulatory changes relevant to the property development sector.
• Ensuring company-wide compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Delivering legal training and guidance to internal teams as required.

• Strong current generalist Property law skills (including property development)  of  at least 3 years + PAE , gained within a recognised leading law firm and/or in a similar in-house role;
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification;
• Strong knowledge of commercial property matters including property developments, planning law, property acquisitions, property contracts, subdivisions and leasing;
• Highly developed, effective communication skills - both written & oral;
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of industry standard contracts and relevant legislation ;
• Possess an approachable manner in order to assist others in a team environment; and
• Be able to multi task and manage competing priorities.

• Experience working in the Property industry [e.g. property developers, construction companies].
• Familiarity with working across the following Australian jurisdictions: Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia.
