  • About this role
    This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Litigation Lawyer (3-5 years PAE) to take ownership of complex commercial and insolvency matters within a highly regarded Melbourne CBD firm. You will work closely with Partners on high-profile cases, engage directly with clients, and represent matters across all Courts and Tribunals. With autonomy, exposure to a diverse range of disputes, and strong mentoring from experienced litigators, you will play a pivotal role in a collaborative, high-performing litigation team.

    Duties
    In this role you will:
    • Lead and manage complex insolvency and commercial litigation matters.
    • Work directly with Partners on high-profile cases involving liquidators, directors, secured creditors, and private corporate clients.
    • Take ownership of a diverse range of commercial and business disputes.
    • Engage in direct client contact, building strong professional relationships.
    • Represent clients in all Courts & Tribunals, including Supreme, County, Federal, and VCAT.
    • Attend and contribute to Creditors’ meetings, mediations, and strategic case discussions.
    • Operate with autonomy while benefiting from excellent Partner mentoring and team support.
    • Be a pivotal member of a high-performing, collaborative litigation team.
    Skills & experience
    Ideally, you will have:
    • 3-5 years PAE in commercial litigation matters such as contractual disputes (eg. building/construction, property/lease, commercial contract) andinsolvency (receiverships, corporate restructuring, liquidations, voluntary administrations, bankruptcies, loan recovery, and securities enforcement).
    • Strong technical and drafting skills, underpinned by diligence, integrity, and a client-focused mindset.
    • Exceptional communication skills, able to engage confidently with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
    • The ability to navigate complex transactional structures and manage competing priorities across files, clients, billing, and professional development.
    • A collaborative, team-oriented approach, contributing to business and professional development and mentoring junior colleagues.
    • Well-developed negotiation skills and a sharp attention to detail.
