What you'll be doing
- Advising on planning and environmental law, including statutory frameworks and planning controls
- Preparing and reviewing planning permit applications, amendments and supporting documentation
- Assisting with planning scheme amendments, precinct structure plans and development contributions
- Drafting and advising on agreements (including section 173 agreements and related instruments)
- Acting in planning disputes, including merits appeals and enforcement proceedings
- Appearing (or assisting with appearances) before tribunals and panels such as VCAT and Planning Panels
- Liaising with clients, consultants, councils and regulatory authorities
- Supporting due diligence processes for property acquisitions and developments
- 2–3 years’ PAE in planning, environment or property law
- Strong understanding of (or genuine interest in) planning and development frameworks
- Experience with planning permits, appeals or local government processes (highly regarded)
- Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders
- The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
