  • About the role
    Our client, renowned for their supportive, inclusive, and progressive workplace, is seeking a dynamic Wills & Estates Lawyer (5+ years PAE) to join their thriving and cohesive team working either 4 or 5 days per week . This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse range of matters, including estate planning, estate administration, probate, and trusts, while working alongside respected practitioners who value collaboration, professional growth, and technical excellence.

    Duties
    Some of the job responsivities include, but are not limited to: 

    • Drafting Wills (simple Wills and Testamentary Wills), Enduring Power of Attorney (for Victoria & NSW), Appointments of Medical Treatment Decision Maker, detailed Explanatory Letters and Costs Agreements;
    • Liaising with beneficiaries regarding entitlements under Will;
    • Drafting applications for Probate and Letters of Administration;
    • Advising executors on their roles and responsibilities and liaising with beneficiaries regarding entitlements under Will and estate;
    • Advising clients in relation to claims against estates and working on court documents in relation to those claims;
    • Instructing at mediation and court;
    • Instructing and appearing at VCAT in relation to matters under the Guardianship List.
    Skills & experience
    Ideally, suitable candidates will have   5+ years PAE   demonstrated experience in working in a Wills & Estate practice and:
    • Excellent drafting and attention to detail; 
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas or frameworks clearly;
    • Commercially minded with a willingness to work on a diverse range of matters;
    • A self-starter, capable of working independently with limited supervision; 
    • Well-developed and effective Business Development skills.
