In this role, you will:-

Duties
In this role, you will:-
- Take responsibility for day-to-day operational tasks
- Identify areas for investment, cost review and operational improvements
- Complete the annual budget process
- Conduct periodic forecasting and regular analysis of operations performance
- Supervise and mentor a small team of highly capable accounts clerks
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a supervisory role , preferably gained within the legal industry or similar professional services environment. You will also have:-
- High level and proven understanding of accounting practices
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Strong computing skills including MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Experience with Accounting & Practice Management systems (Open Practice experience ideal but not essential)
- Working knowledge of trust accounting rules & regulations
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
- Effective and motivational leadership skills to foster teamwork across all functions of the accounts department and firm-wide
- Previous involvement in change management including reviewing accounts processes and providing recommendations for improvement
- AML certification
- CPA or CA qualifications (desirable, but not essential)
