  • About the role
    As Finance Manager for a successful commercial law firm you will be responsible for providing all financial information paramount to making sound business decisions, including high level financial analysis and reporting.

    Duties
    In this role, you will:-
    • Take responsibility for day-to-day operational tasks
    • Identify areas for investment, cost review and operational improvements
    • Complete the annual budget process
    • Conduct periodic forecasting and regular analysis of operations performance
    • Supervise and mentor a small team of highly capable accounts clerks
    Skills and experience
    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a supervisory role , preferably gained within the legal industry or similar professional services environment. You will also have:-
    • High level and proven understanding of accounting practices
    • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
    • Strong computing skills including MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)
    • Experience with Accounting & Practice Management systems (Open Practice experience ideal but not essential)
    • Working knowledge of trust accounting rules & regulations 
    • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
    • Effective and motivational leadership skills to foster teamwork across all functions of the accounts department and firm-wide
    • Previous involvement in change management including reviewing accounts processes and providing recommendations for improvement
    • AML certification
    • CPA or CA qualifications (desirable, but not essential)
