    Our client is a well established, nationally registered employer association, supporting over 2,600 independent businesses nationwide. Their mission is to protect, empower and bring growth to individual businesses. They are located in the beautiful inner south-eastern suburbs. An exciting, newly created opportunity, is now available for an experienced generalist HR/Employee Relations Advisor to join their Advisory team.

    About the role

    As a highly valued member of their Advisory team, you will work alongside a dedicated, close knit and collaborative team of experienced Human Resource professionals. You will help triage and provide HR advice, guidance and practical assistance to their members on a wide range of employee/industrial relations and HR matters.
     
    Some of your primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):-
    • Advice to members (telephone and email) on wide range of employment relations matters such as: disciplinary matters, performance related issues, termination of employment, EEO, discrimination, WHS and award interpretation, health & safety, equal opportunity and diversity, industrial disputes, payment of entitlements, injury and return to work processes, workcover, recruitment and retention strategies and conflict resolution;
    • Helping to mentor and coach members in having employee relation conversations;
    • Contribute to Employee Relations projects and initiatives;
    • Ad hoc HR Consulting work to members (which may involve travel from time to time both within Victoria and interstate);  
    • Help write articles on relevant subject matter; and
    • Develop and deliver virtual or on-site training and information sessions

    About you
    The ideal candidate will have:-
    • 4 years+ experience  in HR/Employee/Industrial Relations role 
    • Experience in a wide range of HR/employee relations and/or industrial relations matters  
    • Interest in high level legislative matters
    • Previous exposure to Award interpretation is essential 
    • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication
