  • About the role
    Join a highly regarded Australian operated insurance company in a broad and hands-on Enterprise Risk role within its established Risk & Governance team.
    In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise across the organisation’s enterprise risk management framework, ensuring alignment with relevant APRA prudential standards and international risk frameworks.

    Working closely with the Risk and Regulatory Affairs Manager, senior management and stakeholders across the business, you will identify, assess and mitigate key insurance, financial, strategic and operational risks, while helping ensure the organisation continues to operate within its established risk appetite.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced risk professional looking to take ownership of key risk initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of a strong and effective risk culture.

    Your role will include (but not be limited to)
    • Implementing and maintaining the enterprise risk management framework, policies and procedures
    • Conducting risk assessments to identify key vulnerabilities, threats and areas for improvement
    • Developing and managing controls assessment and testing programs, including recommending control enhancements
    • Providing risk advice and subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders and committees
    • Preparing risk reports for senior management, committees and the Board
    • Promoting a strong risk culture and embedding the three lines of defence model
    • Maintaining accurate risk data and information within the organisation’s GRC system
    Skills & experience
    The ideal candidate will have:
    • 3+ years' risk experience within financial services, ideally within an APRA regulated organisation
    • Strong knowledge of CPS220, CPS230, CPS234, FAR and relevant ISO standards
    • A tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Law, Risk Management or a related discipline
    • Experience across risk management, compliance, assurance and/or internal audit
    • Strong experience with risk frameworks, controls testing, policies and procedures
    • Excellent written communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills
    • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and influence stakeholders across the business
    • General insurance industry experience will be highly regarded
