Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Lawyer (3+ years PAE) to join its Melbourne team and work across a busy portfolio of motor vehicle insurance disputes.
You will act for leading insurers in a range of property damage and recovery matters, managing files from initial instructions through to negotiation, settlement and court proceedings. The role offers plenty of autonomy, regular client contact and the opportunity to build further expertise in a specialised area of insurance litigation.

You will act for leading insurers in a range of property damage and recovery matters, managing files from initial instructions through to negotiation, settlement and court proceedings. Your role will include:
- Managing motor vehicle property damage and recovery claims
- Advising insurer clients on liability, quantum and indemnity issues
- Handling disputes involving vehicle repairs, credit hire and accident liability
- Drafting pleadings, evidence, submissions and settlement correspondence
- Negotiating settlements and participating in mediations and conferences
- Appearing in the Magistrates’ Court where required
- Working closely with claims managers, insurers and other key stakeholders
- Managing a high-volume caseload while maintaining strong service standards
- At least 3 years’ experience in insurance litigation
- Motor vehicle and property damage experience will be highly regarded
- Broader general insurance experience will also be considered
- Experience dealing with Magistrates’ Court litigation
- Strong drafting, negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Confidence managing files independently and working to deadlines
- Excellent client communication and relationship management skills
