Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager with solid law firm accounting and trust accounting experience to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the practice.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will work closely with Partners, Lawyers and support staff, ensuring the firm’s office and trust accounts are accurate, compliant and running smoothly.
Some of your duties will include, but not limited to:

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager with solid law firm accounting and trust accounting experience to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the practice.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will work closely with Partners, Lawyers and support staff, ensuring the firm’s office and trust accounts are accurate, compliant and running smoothly.
Some of your duties will include, but not limited to:
Accounts Payable & Disbursements
- Processing client and office creditors, anticipated disbursements and expense reimbursements
- Ensuring payments and disbursements are accurately allocated to client matters
- Completing daily trust and office account banking and reconciliations
- Managing investment bank accounts
- Investigating discrepancies and ensuring compliance with legal trust accounting requirements
- Responding to staff queries relating to billing and trust accounts
- Monitoring outstanding debtors and aged receivables
- Assisting with collections and matter financial management
- Maintaining accurate debtor information
- Preparing fortnightly lawyer productivity reports
- Assisting with budgets, adjustments and financial reporting
- Supporting EOFY tax and accounting requirements
- Assisting with staff training on budgets, trust accounting and compliance
- Previous accounts experience within a law firm - essential
- Strong trust accounting experience – essential
- Experience with reconciliations, accounts payable and debtor management
- Sound knowledge of legal accounting and compliance requirements
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage competing priorities
