    Our client is seeking an accomplished Office Manager to take ownership of the operational engine of its Melbourne practice, while supporting its office and playing a key role across people, culture, compliance and continuous improvement.

    This is more than an office management position. It is an opportunity to influence how the firm operates, lead meaningful initiatives and make a tangible impact across the business.

    This 12-month maternity leave contract has the potential to become an ongoing opportunity as the firm continues to grow.

    The Opportunity
    Reporting closely to the General Manager and working alongside the management and People & Culture teams, the Office Manager will be responsible for ensuring the firm's operations are efficient, connected and continually evolving.

    The role will have a broad remit spanning office operations, facilities, people and culture projects, policy, compliance, workplace safety and business improvement.

    A taste of what you'll be doing:

    Lead office operations
    Own the day-to-day operations of the Melbourne office, supporting Brisbane, leading the administration and reception team, and overseeing facilities, suppliers, workspace, archiving and office services.

    Drive People & Culture initiatives
    Partner with People & Culture to deliver key initiatives across employee engagement, wellbeing, HR systems, psychosocial safety and WGEA compliance.

    Own policy, compliance & safety
    Lead the review and implementation of firm policies, staff training and document control, while ensuring workplace health, safety and regulatory obligations are met.

    Improve & connect the business
    Identify opportunities to streamline systems and processes, lead operational projects and precedents, and work closely with the General Manager and management team to deliver business initiatives and strengthen collaboration across the Melbourne and Brisbane offices.

    About You
    Our client is looking for a confident and highly organised professional who understands the unique demands of a legal environment and knows how to turn operational challenges into practical solutions.

    You will bring:
    • At least five years' experience managing the operations of a legal practice , ideally in an Office Manager or senior operations role.
    • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing administration, reception and/or legal support teams.
    • A strong understanding of legal practice operations, workflows and client service standards.
    • Proven experience improving systems, processes and administrative functions.
    • Experience developing and implementing policies, including delivering related staff training
    • Experience delivering people, culture, systems or operational projects.
    • Excellent organisational, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    This role is open to both full-time and part-time (4 days per week) candidates, with ability to work 1 day from home.
