People & Culture Manager (Law Firm)

  • About the role
    As People & Culture Manager you will lead a People & Culture function with 1 direct report (People & Culture Advisor) and be responsible for leading the firm's people strategy, providing strategic and operational leadership across all people-related functions and being a highly valued and trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and Principals. You will drive the success of the people function by ensuring people practices align with strategic objectives, values and commercial goals, while also maintaining a positive, inclusive and high-performing work culture. 

    Duties
    In this role you will:
    • Drive strategic people leadership  through partnering with the Executive team to align workforce initiatives with business objectives and providing strategic advice 
    • Lead talent acquisition and employer branding  to ensure the firm attracts high-quality legal and business services professionals and demonstrates a strong employer brand
    • Take charge of performance management, remunerations and rewards  through coaching and supporting leaders, leading and conducting performance and remuneration reviews, overseeing bonus, incentive and performance reward frameworks, and developing leadership capability programs, reward and recognition initiatives 
    • Design and oversee professional development initiatives , including continuing professional development, leadership, career pathways, professional growth and succession planning
    • Oversee employee relations and workplace compliance  such as advising on employment law and workplace relations matters, managing disciplinary processes, ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance and maintaining the firm's HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks
    • Promote and maintain employee engagement and wellbeing  through initiatives and programs relating to wellbeing, psychological safety, employee experience, inclusivity and diversity

    Skills & experience
    The ideal candidate will have:- 
    • 10+ years' senior HR or People & Culture experience , within a professional services or legal environment
    • Proven results in advising senior executives and leadership teams
    • Sound experience in talent acquisition, organisational development and employee relations
    • Solid understanding of employment law and workplace relations
    • Excellent strategic planning and implementation skills
    • Ability to translate commercial business objectives into effective people initiatives
    • Hands-on experience overseeing the full spectrum of People & Culture service delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes
    • Good emotional intelligence, leadership skills and ability to build and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships (internal and external)
