Senior Associate - Commercial Litigation & Insolvency

We’re working with a highly regarded Melbourne law firm looking to appoint an experienced Senior Associate to its Commercial Litigation team.

This is a role for a confident litigator who enjoys running matters, dealing directly with clients and getting involved beyond the day-to-day legal work.

You’ll join a collaborative, down-to-earth team where senior lawyers are trusted with autonomy, encouraged to develop client relationships and supported to build their profile.

What you'll be working on
Expect plenty of variety across complex commercial disputes & insolvency law, including:

• Contractual and general commercial disputes
• Shareholder and corporate disputes
• Insolvency-related matters
• Debt recovery
• Conducting matters across state and federal courts, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution forums
• Supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior lawyers and graduates

There will also be scope to get involved in business development, client initiatives and broader practice growth.

What we're looking for
You’ll be an experienced commercial litigator who is comfortable taking ownership and providing clear, commercially focused advice.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• 7+ years’ PAE in commercial litigation and dispute resolution
• Strong technical litigation skills and solid court experience
• The confidence to manage files and client relationships autonomously
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
• A commercial and pragmatic approach to resolving disputes

An existing professional network would be well regarded, but just as important is your willingness to build relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
