    As a  Senior Legal Accounts Clerk  with solid law firm accounting and trust accounting experience you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of a busy law practice.

    Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will work closely with Partners, Lawyers and support staff, ensuring the firm’s office and trust accounts are accurate, compliant and running smoothly.

    Duties

    Some of your duties will include, but not be limited to:-  
    • Process client and office creditors, anticipated disbursements and expense reimbursements
    • Ensure payments and disbursements are accurately allocated to client matters
    • Complete daily trust and office account banking and reconciliations
    • Manage investment bank accounts
    • Investigate discrepancies and ensure compliance with legal trust accounting requirements
    • Respond to staff queries relating to billing and trust accounts
    • Monitor outstanding debtors and aged receivable
    • Assist with collections and matter financial management
    • Maintain accurate debtor information
    • Prepare fortnightly lawyer productivity reports
    • Assist with budgets, adjustments and financial reporting
    • Support EOFY tax and accounting requirements
    • Assist with staff training on budgets, trust accounting and compliance    
    Skills and experience 
    The successful candidate must have previous accounts experience (within a legal environment) and strong trust accounting experience . You will also be able to demonstrate:-
    • Proficiency with reconciliations, accounts payable and debtor management
    • Sound knowledge of legal accounting and compliance requirements
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
    • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage competing priorities
    • A confident and hands-on approach
